An urgent health alert has been issued in Melbourne after a string of popular stores were exposed to coronavirus. 

An IKEA, Nando’s, Sikh temple and several bars were added to the growing list of exposure sites in the city on Tuesday. 

Health authorities are urging anyone who visited the locations to get tested as soon as possible and self-isolate. 

The warning comes as Victoria recorded three new locally acquired cases, taking the number of active cases to 38.

Anyone who visited IKEA Springvale from 5.30-6.30pm on December 30 is being urged to get tested and self-isolate

It is not yet known if the new infections are linked to the Black Rock outbreak – which was initially connected to the Buffalo Smile Thai restaurant.

There was also one Covid-19 case reported in a returned traveller in hotel quarantine. 

More than 1,000 primary and secondary contacts are isolating and a growing number of exposure sites have been identified.

The Sikh Temple in Keysborough was altered as an exposure site on Tuesday. 

Anyone who attended the site between 3-5pm on January 1 is being told to get tested immediately.

Melbourne eateries, such as Nando’s in the CBD, Mexican restaurant Fonda, Melbourne Central Lion Hotel and European Bier Cafe have also been put on alert.

Tao Dumplings in Camberwell and the Merrymen Cafe in Hampton have also been impacted by the virus. 

An infected diner also visited Stomping Ground Brewery in Collingwood.

The new alerts have added to the growing list of venues, which now includes more than 100 exposure sites.

The Grape and Grain cellars in Moorabbin was also upgraded as an exposure site on Monday. Shoppers who visited the bottle shop on December 21 from 2pm-10pm, December 22 from 10am-6pm, December 24 from 1pm-10pm, December 28 from 8.05pm-8.47pm, December 29 from 12pm-4pm must quarantine for 14 days

A Boost Juice at Chadstone shopping centre was put on alert in Monday after a worker tested positive for the virus.

‘Our team has been notified a person who worked at Boost Juice (outside Bonds) has returned a positive test for Covid-19,’ the centre said.

‘We are working closely with the team at Boost Juice, both kiosks at Chadstone are currently closed and a deep clean has been undertaken.’

The centre attracts about 68,000 people on its busiest trading days. 

A Puffing Billy railway stop in emerald was also put on the exposure site list.

Latest exposure sites include a Boost Juice at Chadstone, where a worker tested positive for the virus, the centre attracts about 68,000 people on its busiest trading days

It is one of 13 sites linked to the cluster where anyone who has visited in a defined period must be tested immediately and quarantine for 14 days.

Visitors to another 29 sites must be tested immediately and quarantine until they have a negative result.

A third category carries a warning where anyone who develops symptoms should go for testing, and this includes more than 50 sites.
